Meaning Of the Tarot Card The Fool

Quick Tarot Guide

0 - The Fool

The first card of the Major Arcana of the Tarot, the Fool is the fearless traveller upon life’s highway. He has no fear, because, as yet untried by life’s trials, he has never been hurt.

The Fool sees the wonder in all things and sometimes needs to be reminded to place his feet on the earth and take his head out of the clouds.

The bundle of rags tied on the stick across his shoulder contains all the knowledge that the Fool needs while on life’s journey but the fact that he carries it with him, rather than it being a part of him, show that he has not yet integrated all of this knowledge into his personality and therefore as yet may be unaware of his full capabilities.

Meaning of the Fool Card In a Tarot Reading

Positively associated with innocence, new beginnings and inner potential awaiting to be revealed, The Fool also represents spontaneity, fearlessness and a sense of joy.

Negative associations of the Fool Tarot card are immaturity, irresponsibility, impulsiveness and even lawlessness!
