1 The Magician
The second card of the Major Arcana of the Tarot is The Magician. The Magician is truly master of his own destiny.
This card is the only card in the whole Tarot deck which has all four of the minor suits - cups, wands, swords and pentacles - showing in it, they are arranged in altar fashion on the table in front of him. This shows he is in command of the elements and therefore of the world around him.
The challenge of the Magician though, is to be as masterful over the elements within himself as he is the world around him.
Meaning the Magician Card In a Tarot reading
Positive associations are confidence, strength of will and individuality, often representing new beginnings and inner potential.
Negative associations of the Magician Tarot card are trickery and deception, arrogance and a lack of compassion, indecision and the abuse of power.
